About Us
Compassion and empathy are the two pillars that define this organization.
Duddhara, meaning a steady rope, is symbolic of the helping hand we offer. As a collective group of enthusiastic and like minded people, we strive to be the link between the need and the opportunity to grow. Albeit a budding organization, Duddhara has seen the follow through of unattainable, diverse social activities.
Our Vision and Goals
An umbrella of support, we wish to help as many as we can, in whatever way possible.
One of our goals is making those we help independent so that they can continue supporting themselves and keep growing.
We branched out financial support to sports especially those with higher financial need, charity organizations in need of temporary backing as well as providing lower income households with skills that could help them earn their daily bread.
Our Story
A couple years ago, my dad told me of an Olympic medalist who let go of his promising career as an athlete to work at his father’s tea stall. Yes, a tea stall, because he needed to make ends meet which left little hope for his career as a runner. I, like the majority of our population, assumed that if a person was talented enough to win a medal at the Olympics, their lives would be set as professional athletes. Unfortunately, reality strikes hard especially when one least expects it but it also gives rise to opportunity. This is where the inspiration behind Duddhara first emerged.
There are so many who try and try and win and win but cannot persevere, their main trouble being finance. They need to work hard, struggle for funding for each match or come up with the arrangements all on their own. After much study and thought, we realized there was a great need for Indian athletes of all sports to be supported by us. No matter how much they prove themselves, it seems like they spend forever and all their savings only trying to keep proving themselves to people who don’t pay attention. This is where we come in to be support provided to those who have already proved their worth. We are in no position to compare the support given to athletes in foreign countries to ours, but I hope one day we can hold our heads up and say we give each sportsman an equal chance at success regardless of their sport.
As a budding organisation we’re looking to make small differences, but a difference nonetheless. To all those who come to us for support and all the tasks we take on as a foundation, we are only looking to make the journey towards their goals a little easier.
